Illegal immigration is a critical issue in the USA

The United States has, since its founding, been a land of hope for oppressed people throughout the world. And our immigration system has laws regulating how emigres are to be received. Unfortunately, current estimates of the number of foreigners illegally in our country range from 12 million to 18 million.

Much of today's focus is on illegal aliens from Mexico; although they are the largest group, significant numbers also come from Central America and South America as well as countries all around the world. Problems experienced on a daily basis stemming from illegal immigration include overpopulation, poverty and crime. Also, our national security has moved to a critical stage, with regard to terrorism emanating from the Middle East and other areas of the world.

Our nation has experienced increases over time in our illegal immigration-related problems. Vote Out Incumbents for Democracy (VOID) provides an opportunity for voters from all sections of our society to send to Washington new public officials who understand the many critical and timely issues facing our country and desire to resolve them. These challengers in the 2006 elections will replace many staid incumbents there now who place party warfare, special interests, and reelection campaign money from wealthy donors ahead of our solving our nation's problems. VOID calls on all supporters to provide financial or volunteer time to our mission; help us restore responsible politicians to our Congress who are dedicated to solving our nation's problems to insure a safe, and prosperous future for our children and ourselves.

Lend your support today, while we still have time to make a difference in next year's election.

Just recently the State Patrol up in Cook County caught a couple of illegals with around a kilo of coke. These illegals weren't from Mexico or anywhere south of there. They were from Canada.
This tells me that while the ones from south of the border are a problem, that we need to look a securing our border with Canada as well.

Ron, I agree. I am awaiting Bush's announced 'comprehensive plan' for dealing with illegal immigration. If it does not include closing the porosity of our borders, it is a busted plan out of the gate.

A few weeks ago, a Dallas policeman was shot and killed by an illegal alien.
Bush said he'd add more persons to patrol borders, but still refuses to prosecute those that illegal employ illegal aliens.
Bush has a lot of gall to call the Minute Men vigilantes. Bush ought to tell that to the family of the Dallas policeman murdered by an illegal alien.
Bush is a hypocrite. He now wants to give guest working passes to illegal aliens. That's a slap in the face of those that played by the rules and attempted to immigrate legally.
Congress is hypocritical about this issue too. Everyone admits that illegal aliens burden our school systems, health systems, welfare systems, law enforcement systems, and even vote in our elections. And, some murder Americian citizens like the Dallas policeman that was murdered two weeks ago.
Congress is bought-and-paid-for by corporations that employ illegal aliens, and bought-and-paid-for politicians don't want to make their puppeteers angry.
So, like before, nothing will really change.

The solution is actually simple if Congress and the military were serious.
And, it wouldn't even cost much more. It would use resources we already have.

The U.S. has about 9000 miles of land borders.
9000 troops (less than 1% of the total of 2.6 million active military, reserves, and guard troops) could man 900 stations spaced 10 miles apart, and equipped with 10 troops per station, 4 wheelers, 4x4 vehicles, helicopters, electronic surveillance, and unmanned aerial craft.

Double that 9000 to 18000 and it would still be less than 1% of the nations total 1% of active, reserve, and guard troops.

Isn't national security supposed to one of the functions of the military?

By the way, Al Qaeda is crossing our borders. It's just a matter of time before they make their presence felt.

And, our illustrious Congress, again will say crap like: "We had no idea such a thing could happen".

Maybe someday, when voters have had enough, and realize what we've been doing isn't working, then perhaps they do the only peaceful thing voters can do to reform government and hold them accountable:
VOTE out incumbents.
Repeatedly, Every election,
until incumbents stop ignore the voters and the nation's worst problems.

Although many will attempt it, the issue of illegal immigration has nothing to do with race, color, nationality, or ethnicity.
The problem is that illegal aliens cost American taxpayers.
Not just money, but lives too (increased crime rates).
We are now witnessing the chaos, societal disorder, resentments, racism, etc., which are all the usual results of massive, uncontrolled, illegal immigration.
That is not said with malice. It is simply a fact.
We can not all live at the expense of everyone else.
That is a myth perpetuated by pandering politicians and misguided people that overlook the denial of benefits and services for U.S. citizens that pay for those very benefits (e.g. education, welfare, healthcare, ERs, Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, etc.).
There is no doubt that many people from all over the world want to come to the U.S.
That is what legal immigration is for. Get in line. Cutting in line is not fair to legal immigrants. The U.S. accepts hundreds of thousands of legal immigrants every year.
There is no doubt that many people all over the world want to come to the U.S.,
since the federal government forces states to provide public education, Medicaid, healthcare, and welfare to illegal aliens.

The problem is that we can not make the pie any bigger.
We can not let everyone come here, and use and abuse what we have built, because it won't be long before there is nothing for anyone.

But, more importantly, We also owe a duty, first, to our fellow U.S. American citizens who are suffering and dying due to illegal aliens.

Los Angeles ERs and hospitals are over-run with illegal aliens (most that don't pay) while U.S. citizens go without (and die). U.S. citizens go without because 32% of all illegal aliens receive welfare. U.S. tax payers pay a huge price for the loss of life, crime, and cost of law enforcement and prison due to illegal aliens (29% of all prisoners in our state and federal prisons are are illegal aliens).

The rights of foreigners, that illegally trespass our borders, do not trump the rights of a sovereign nation to secure their own border.

The U.S. is not for the public use of the rest of the world no more than your home is for the public use by anyone that isn't invited. We must enforce the existing laws and prosecute those that illegally employ illegal trespassers.

  • Where is the companssion for the one person murdered every 86 hours by an illegal alien (source: GAO-5646R)
  • Where is the compassion for U.S. citizens that go without healthcare and access to ERs because ERs and hospitals are over-flowing with illegal aliens (of which many don't pay)? Is this fair to U.S. tax payers?
  • Where is the compassion for the truly needy U.S. citizens that can not get help because of limited resources and 32% of illegal aliens receive welfare ?
  • Where is the compassion for the illegal aliens being lured here for sub-minimum wage jobs, creating an under-class (practically slavery) ?
  • Where is the outrage of the greedy employers of illegal aliens ?
  • Where is the compassion for the U.S. victims and survivors of crimes perpetrated by illegal aliens (29% of all prisoners are illegal aliens), and the crime rates are rising.
  • Where is the compassion for U.S. Americans who's lives have been changed forever by illegal aliens that spread disease ? One illegal alien in Santa Barbara, California infected 56 other people with tuberculosis as reported on April 24, 2004, by the Santa Barbara Press-News, "Anatomy of an Outbreak". Because illegal alien migration into the USA continues unabated for the past 20 years, we now have 16,000 new cases of incurable MDR tuberculosis in the past five years. We suffer 7,000 new cases of leprosy. We tolerate 100,000 new cases of hepatitis "A" in our society. Chagas Disease, which affects 14 million South Americans and kills 50,000 annually, streams across our borders as unchecked thousands of them enter our society. If you child goes to public school, they could be exposed, as thousands already have been.
  • Where is the compassion for the U.S. tax payers that lose many tens of billions per year due to all the numerous problems stemming from illegal aliens?
  • In view of all that above, how could anyone use the excuse that the U.S. would crumble (economically) without cheap labor? Even if it were true (which it isn't), does that justify a sub-minimum-wage under-class ? The economy would not crumble, as much as some want to believe it, since the majority of those done by illegal aliens are low-wage, low-skill jobs, and would not generate much in tax revenue, even if half those that don't pay taxes started paying taxes. Even if it were true, does it justify the perpetuation of an under-paid under-class?? Are we all going to be like Senator Linsey Graham (D-SC) who said: "as a golfer, I probably benefit from their [illegal aliens] labor." ? Nevermind that S.C. has the highest rate of violent crime (excluding D.C.) of any state in the U.S. and it is largely due to illegal aliens.
  • Where is the compassion for all of the U.S. policemen murdered by illegal aliens? On 13-Nov-2005, Brian Jackson, a Dallas policeman was shot and killed by an illegal alien, Juan Lizcano. Lizcano had become drunk and went to the home of his ex-girfriend to threaten her. As the police pursued Lizcano after he fled the woman's home, he shot Officer Jackson, who died later in the hospital. Officer Jackson was remembered by his fellow police as someone who loved his job and always went the extra mile. In Denver, Colorado, an illegal deliberately ran over a Denver polceman in a school cross walk "breaking his legs along with severe internal injuries. This is not anectdotal. This tragedy has occurred over and over in many cities across the U.S.
  • Where is the compassion for all of the people that do not want to see a repeat of 11-Sep-2001, perpetrated by several illegal aliens ?
  • The Center for Immigration Studies in Washington indicates that U.S. households (in year 2002) headed by illegal aliens used $26.3 billion in government services, but only paid in $16 billion in taxes, which is an annual loss to California taxpayers of $10 billion (year 2002). That was four years ago. It's even worse now. Total net losses (year 2005) are estimated to be approximately $70 billion per year.

Increased crime rates is a typical result of massive, uncontrolled illegal immigration. Figures are hard to find directly, but it can be conservatively estimated using data from two sources:

  • By the end of 2005, there were an estimated 12 million illegal aliens in the U.S.

  • With existing data, if you take the murder rate in Brazil, Mexico, Salvador, Chinese, and 39 other categories of illegal alien (as totaled in a Census Bureau estimate of the 8.7 million illegal alien population in the year 2000), and assume those crime rates are the same, then total homicides illegal aliens are between 1408 to 2510 homicides per year in the U.S.

  • Total U.S. prison population in 2004 was 2.2 million (source:
  • The average stay in prison for each illegal alien is 21 months (source: GAO 5337 Report).

  • The U.S. population is about 299 million.

  • 29% of all prisoners are illegal aliens (about 638,000 of 2.2 million)

  • In 2004, there were 16,528 homicide in the U.S.

  • In GAO Report 5646, a study group of 55,322 illegal aliens (imprisoned for many different crimes) committed 5992 homicides over a period of 57 years in CA, TX, and AZ (between 1947 and 2004). That is 105.12 (i.e. 5992 homicides/57 years) homicides per year for the study group of 55,322 illegal aliens in CA, TX, and AZ over 57 years. There are 638,000 illegal aliens in prison in year 2004. The study group is only 8.67% of the total of number of illegal aliens in prison. Therefore (638,000 / 55,322) = 11.53 which means the study group of 55,322 was 11.53 times smaller. So, multiplying 11.53 times the average of 105.12 homicides per year (the average over for 57 years) = 1212 homicides per year. That is a bit conservative, since most crimes started occurring after 1990. But, that corroborates the number 1408 determined above. But, let's split the difference: 1310 = (1408 + 1212) / 2
  • 1310 homicides / 12 million illegal aliens = 0.0001092 homicide per illegal alien

  • 16528 homicides / 299 million U.S. citizens = 0.00005528 homicide per U.S. citizen

  • 0.0001092 / 0.00005528 = 1.9754 (that is, the homicide rate by illegal aliens is about 2 times higher than by U.S. citizens)

  • Even if the smallest estimate of 1212 homicides per year is used, the average is: ( 1212 / 12 million ) / 0.00005528 = 1.827 (that is, the homicide rate by illegal aliens is about 2 times higher than by U.S. citizens)

  • 12 million illegal aliens are 4% of the U.S. population (299 million), but commit 8% of all homicides in the U.S.

Crime is only one of the many problems.
The following are other serious issues stemming from illegal aliens:

  • increased crime rates;

  • burden on education systems;

  • burden on healthcare systems;

  • burden on hospital systems;

  • burden on welfare systems;

  • burden on Social Security system;

  • burden on Medicaid system;

  • burden on severely overburdened border patrol systems;

  • burden on insurance systems; illegal aliens can/will not pay for damages they cause;

  • burden on law enforcement systems; costing California billions per year;

  • burden on prison systems;

  • voter fraud; burden on voting systems;

It is understandable that many people feel like they are being benevolent, and want to have compassion for illegal aliens, but it is not understandable to fail to have equal compassion for their fellow U.S. citizens. Truly needy U.S. Americans are waiting and going without, while millions of illegal aliens collect welfare, fill our prisons, defraud Social Security, Medicare, and fraudulently vote in our elections.

We can't make the pie any bigger. We are importing poverty while greedy employers of illegal aliens reap the most benefit (not U.S. citizens or illegal aliens). Supporters of illegal aliens fail to prioritize and understand the simple math, of how they are, by supporting illegal aliens, hurting their own fellow U.S. American citizens.

At any rate, we can not deport 12 million people. But, we should stop the inflow.

Since we practically invite illegal aliens here, we must show some compassion. Making illegal aliens felons for merely being here illegally is not the solution.
THE SOLUTION:

  • Secure the borders (cost approximately $8 billion for a road/fence along the southern 2000 mile border, and $10 billion per year for personnel and equipment); That $18 billion is far less than the net losses of $24.4 billion due to illegal aliens in 1996 (net annual losses are now estimated to be about $70 billion per year). That is far less than teh $29 billion for pork-barrel in year 2005;

  • Require enforcement of all immigration laws. Enforce the existing laws.

  • Require ALL employers to use the Social Security Verification System for ALL hires.

  • Deny ALL illegal alien births automatic citizenship. End anchor-baby blue passports;

  • Deny ALL illegal aliens a FREE K-12 education.

  • Deny ALL illegal aliens ANY and ALL 'public benefits'.

  • Deny ALL illegal aliens driver's licenses and in-state college tuition.

  • Deport all incarcerated criminal aliens immediately;

  • Provide (at our own cost) $300 and pre-paid transporation for each illegal alien that volunteers to return to their homeland; the remainder of illegal aliens will eventually leave on their own or request transporation to return to their homeland, since there will be no more freebies or jobs;

  • Verify ALL voter's citizenship, before permission to vote.
