The senate seat held by Conrand Burns (R-Montana) looks promising for anti-incumbent advocates this November. Senator Burns has fallen behind his challenger, Jon Tester (D), by 9 points. Tester - is at 52%, while the incumbent, Burns - is at 43%.
The poll, by Rasmussen Reports shows a significant swing of voter preference to Tester in the last month. The August poll showed Burns and Tester tied at 47% each.
Mr. Tester's fortunes have been improved considerably by Mr. Burn's ties to big oil and the Jack Abramoff scandal. Polling data shows a high percentage of Democrats supporting Mr. Tester and him pulling 20% of Republicans into his camp.
Mr. Tester is one of three Sentate races that Rasmussen has changed to "Leans Democratic". The other two races include Ohio and Rhode Island where both incumbents are Republicans.

Ties to Abramoff and big oil should be a death knell for an incumbent. It seems to be moving only small, but, significant numbers away from the incumbent. That is a sign of why our democracy is not working very well, I'm afraid.
