Is Rothenberg Right?

The Rothenberg Political Report says:

Democratic voters are angry with Congress now for not taking Bush on strongly enough over the war in Iraq. That explains why Congress' job ratings are so low. But that anger is likely to dissipate, and it is difficult to imagine Democrats (or even independents) voting against Democratic House incumbents merely to make a point.

Why VOID is Essential

Vote Out Incumbents Democracy (VOID) is a voter advocacy organization. We counter politicians "vote for me" advertising with a message which comes straight from the Founding Fathers. Vote for or against incumbent politicians based on the results of that politician's term in office. If an incumbent, a politician running for reelection, has been ineffective, corrupt, or unwilling to stand for responsible government, then the voter is wise indeed to vote against the incumbent, by voting for a challenger.

America can no longer afford to keep more than 92% of the same people in office and expect a different outcome. It just hasn't worked out well. The voters must vote differently if American politics and government are to act differently. It just isn't more straight forward or logical than this.

There is no flaw at all with the Founding Fathers idea that informed voters should vote to REMOVE politicians from office if the voter's interests and nation are not served. POWER will keep itself in office. That's what political parties are all about. It takes the greater power of voters in a democratic election system to remove them.

This is what Vote Out Incumbents Democracy (VOID) is all about: motivating as many millions of registered voters as it takes to remove incompetent, corrupt, and ineffective politicians from federal office. And in so doing, put the political parties on notice: They don't control power by taking a 1.5 billion dollars of lobbyist and special interest campaign dollars; the independent thinking voters do, with their collective vote and VOID support.

VOID was founded at the exact right time in American history to force accountable and responsible government from our politicians. In recent years, the polls show that registered Independent voters now outnumber Democratic or Republican registered voters. Reaching those Independent minded voters with a strategy and goal to bind them together into a political force, is the reason for VOID's existence and growing support.

Join the VOID revolution, the time is right. The time is now.

[VOID's Board of Directors and staff are all volunteers. There are no paid employees at VOID. All funds are applied to VOID operations and outreach. VOID is registered with the Federal Elections Commission and the IRS (EIN# 83-0445374) as a not for profit political advocacy organization without ties or relationship to any political party or candidates.]

Freshman Congresspersons's SAVE Act: A Winner

H.R. 4088, The SAVE Act of 2007 (Secure America with Verification and Enforcement, [pdf] is an outstanding piece of bipartisan legislation. No amnesty provisions; this Bill puts border security and enforcement of existing and new laws as the number one priority. Largely developed and co-sponsored by freshman Congresspersons, this Bill is the best evidence yet, that voting out incumbents can bring the changes that America needs.

Congress seeks to violate their own law.

The Campaign Legal Center and Democracy 21 filed comments today with the Federal Elections Commission opposing a new attempt by Members of Congress to circumvent McCain-Feingold, correctly known as the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act, by raising soft money for ballot initiatives.

Just another reason to vote out these incumbents who continuously put power and politics ahead of the people and the nation.
