In a meeting between board members Stephanie Christ and David Remer last week, Stephanie Christ agreed to become the interim Treasurer. However, later, after conferring with the resigning Treasurer regarding what was required, Ms. Christ contacted Remer and advised that she would not be willing to take on the additional role.

Since all financial activity would have been required to cease under FEC (Federal Elections Commisssion) regulations in the absence of a VOID Treasurer, and after there were no volunteers from the membership and supporters to step into the role in response to an urgent mailing to them, David Remer instructed the exiting Treasurer, Daniel Summars to file a change of Treasurer with the FEC naming David Remer as the Treasurer. In so doing, pending revenue transactions were not halted, and VOID operations continue.

The FEC laws and filing requirements act as a check and balance over the Treasurer's actions providing public disclosure of all revenues, expenditures, and cash balances on the FEC website, reported quarterly. (See link in right hand column.)

However, there remains a vacant Board seat to be filled. With only two board members, issues arising in which there is a split vote, cannot be resolved. It is therefore, important for VOID's continued operations that a 3rd volunteer board member be recruited as soon as practicable. We encourage our supporters and members to please volunteer to fill this important role for VOID. The board meets by conference call at least once per quarter for about an hour. This role requires only a couple hours of time per quarter.
