American citizens are becoming angrier with the direction that our leaders are taking the nation. Congress has a lower approval rating than even our unpopular President. We, the people, are not happy with:
- the lack of transparency and accountability of our representatives
- we are not happy with the bailout of Wall Street
- big banks and insurance companies
- we are not happy with the high gas and energy prices
- we are not happy with the deficit spending that our representatives are promoting
- we are not happy with the progress of the wars that we are engaged in
- we are not happy with the amount of money we are borrowing
- we are not happy with the length of time a poor bad politicians serve in congress.
You can throw up your hands and say "there's nothing I can do about this". That's what most of us have been doing for a long time. But there is something you can do about this situation. Vote Out Incumbents signs, bumper stickers, and T-shirts are popping up all over the place reflecting voter dissatisfaction. The Virginia wing of Vote Out Incumbents Democracy has just been formed. Virginia VOID is an extension of the national organization.
VOID's mission is to organize Americans, who are dissatisfied with the results of their government and elected officials running it. The power of organizations like ours to register voters and turnout voters on election day cannot be understated. It is imperative that voters remove ineffective, out of touch, and irresponsible incumbent politicians.
