In 2018, the political landscape in Ontario has completely changed. Ontario has been a stronghold of the Liberal Party as it has been in power since 2003, when the Liberal Party under Dalton McGuinty overthrew the Progressive Conservative government. Since then, the Liberal Party was in power in Ontario until 2018. In a 2018 poll, the Progressive Conservative Party under the leadership of Doug Ford won an absolute majority in the Ontario Legislative Election.
The Liberal Party was only able to win 7 seats, 48 seats less than its previous tally. Ontario is about to run for election once again. The Progressive Conservative Party will fight under the leadership of Doug Ford while the Liberal Party will contest the next election under the new leadership of Steven Del Duca. Andrea Horwath will lead the New Democratic Party in the election.
The 2022 Ontario general election must take place no later than June 2, 2022.

The latest poll for the upcoming Ontario election puts the ruling Progressive Conservative in poll position. However, polls predicted that the Progressive Conservative Party’s vote share would decline from the last election. In the last Ontario election, the PC won an overall vote share of 40.5% and 67 seats.
The poll shows that the New Democratic Party is expected to lose the most in the next poll, with the Liberal Party gaining the most. In the last election, the NDP won 33% of the vote and won 38 seats, but in the next election, the NDP could win around 20% of the vote. The Liberal party, on the other hand, which was whitewashed in the last election, can get over 30% of the vote, 10% more than it achieved in the last election.

The last election in Ontario was held on June 7, 2018 to elect members of Ontario’s 42nd Parliament. The ruling Liberal Party was under the pressure of 15 years of opposition to power. The election result came as a beating for the Liberal Party. After 15 years of rule, the Liberal Party was pushed into 3rd place as it could only win 7 seats, 48 fewer seats than it won in the last election.
The Progressive Conservative Party under the leadership of Doug Ford won an absolute majority in the Ontario Parliament. from 27 seats in 2014, the CP won 76 seats, 49 seats more than its previous tally.
The New Democratic Party won 40 seats and finished second in the election. They won 18 seats in the 2014 elections.
After the result was announced, Doug Ford became the new Premier of Ontario.
