Actress Ellie Kemper once wrote a jingle for McDonald’s
Years before she sang Wilson Phillips’ “Hold On” in the movie “Bridesmaids,” actress Ellie Kemper had her own songwriting credit. She told Jen Rogers of Yahoo Finance on My three cents that it all happened during an unpaid summer internship for the Leo Burnett advertising agency in Chicago.
“The pinnacle was having a McDonald’s radio commercial airing locally in Chicago for the Triple-Bacon Cheeseburger. I wrote the jingle. It aired for maybe three weeks, ”Kemper said.
“It seemed like a very tangible measure of success. And I felt like as a modest intern, I would be treated with great respect now.
As Kemper remembers, it was her moment as a peak businesswoman. “I kind of went up and down in a summer.”
“I walked to work every day in those Ann Taylor clothes that I sometimes worried about. [that] I was too chic. I remember wearing a 3/4 t-shirt once and I was like, is that too trendy? But don’t worry, I wasn’t too fancy.
