Conference on electoral fraud a circus | Letters
Six Montana lawmakers – Theresa Manzella, Paul Fielder, Brad Tschida, Steve Galloway, Bob Phalen and Jerry Schillinger – traveled to South Dakota for a conference on electoral fraud hosted by millionaire conspiracy theorist Mike Lindell.
As you might expect, the conference was a real circus. Lindell’s own experts dismissed his alleged evidence, as he ranted at terrorists who were hiding in his hotel and sabotaging his Wi-Fi.
The antics of an off-balance pillow seller are entertaining, but the activities of Montana lawmakers demand real scrutiny. Why are elected officials wasting their time chasing conspiracy theories when so many real issues are facing our state? Months of investigations have yielded no evidence for their allegations. In fact, credible audits confirmed that the 2020 elections were conducted freely and fairly.
Is it really about “electoral integrity” or sore losers who cannot manage how democracy works?
As these lawmakers pursue plots and spread disinformation, the real Montanais need help. Our lawmakers should tackle COVID-19, help small businesses, repair roads, bridges and schools, tackle forest fires, and provide relief to farmers and ranchers during droughts.
Hopefully these lawmakers all got discounts on Lindell’s pillows, so they can sleep at night knowing how badly they are failing at their jobs.
