Georgia prosecutor says she has evidence to prove ‘criminal intent’ in Trump voter fraud: report

Appearing on MSNBC’s “The Katie Phang Show,” former US attorney Joyce Vance explained that Georgia prosecutor Fani Willis has a head start on other investigations into Donald Trump’s attempts to steal the presidential election from 2020 when it comes to proving the former president knew he was breaking the law.

Asked by MSNBC host Phang what’s happening now that more than 50 witnesses have been subpoenaed, Vance argued that Willis has a key piece of evidence that could lead to criminal charges.

“She [Willis] investigates several possible crimes, including fraud and racketeering. What must she present to the special grand jury to get the indictment against Donald Trump returned?” the MSNBC host asked.

“She will need anyone investigating the former president’s involvement in voter fraud or outright election crime, and this is proof of the former president’s mindset. “, replied Vance. “Fani Willis has got a good case coming through the door of this grand jury because she has the tape you just played where it [Trump] does not ask for an investigation into potential voter fraud, not a look to see if something went wrong. but ask the [Georgia] Secretary of State [Brad Raffensperger] to find the precise number of votes he needs.”

“It’s pretty good evidence of criminal intent that went into it,” she added. “Now she’s going to lock up the witnesses and see what else they can do, put flesh on the bones.”
