Iraq promises to resolve 356 complaints of electoral fraud and irregularities in one week
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Iraq’s High Independent Electoral Commission (IHEC) said on Saturday it had received 356 formal complaints about potential fraud or other irregularities in national elections held six days earlier.
State media quoted the head of the commission’s complaints and appeals department, Hassanein Laith, as saying that the body had received 329 complaints for investigation into the general vote that took place on Sunday and 27 complaints related to the special vote, carried out. the day before include members of the security forces and prisoners.
Ali Saeed Jassim, legal director of the department, said decisions on each complaint will be made within a week, saying: “The commission will announce the final election results once the appeals are resolved, and those who oppose to final results can file complaints too. “

Just over nine million of the more than 25 million eligible voters took part in the elections, according to IHEC data.
