This BC donkey is campaigning for mayor because ‘any A** could run’ and it’s adorable
This adorable donkey is running a campaign to become mayor of a town in British Columbia – and it’s a prank everyone is into.
Lorraine O’Connor of Grand Forks, BC, who owns Lobo (12) the donkey, told Narcity she got the idea when she saw a comment made on Facebook that “any a ** “could run”.
“People are talking about this person and this person, throwing names around…one of the things said was ‘any ass can run’ and I thought ‘Hey, I got an ass. Maybe he should run,'” she said. .

With the help of a friend, O’Connor created Lobo’s own Facebook page, called LOBO FOR MAYOR 2022.
The number of people and other media responding to the donkey campaign has been extremely pleasing to O’Connor.
“The page has just been bombarded [with comments and likes] and we haven’t looked back since,” she added.
Unfortunately, Lobo can’t officially run because he’s technically not a human – but the fake campaign “won the hearts of all of Canada with their votes”, according to O’Connor.

The town of 4,000 people, located in the Boundary County region of British Columbia, will hold its municipal elections in October.
Lobo’s campaign highlights Grand Folks’ anti-incumbency against current council leader Brian Taylor. “A horse ass has been in this position for 4 years, so why not? Go Lobo,” a community member remarked on the page.
And while unable to directly challenge the city council, Lobo has done wonders to bring attention to the cause he (and his landlord) originally set himself.
