Vishaka East: Group Policy in YCP helps Velagapudi

The Telugu Desam party is very strong in Vishaka East constituency. The party won this constituency for three consecutive terms.

Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu won all three victories.

The YSR Congress is banking on the incumbent’s anti-incumbency to turn the tide in its favour.

The YSR Congress encourages Yadavs and the fishing community to woo voters in the BC constituency.

Akaramani Vijaya Nirmala who contested and lost on the YSRCP ticket was appointed as coordinator and was also appointed chairman of Vishakapatnam metro development authority.

Vamsi Krishna Srinivas, who had already lost twice in this constituency, was named MLC.

Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari from the same constituency was appointed mayor of Vishaka.

In this way, three prominent BC leaders of the constituency obtained important positions.

The party’s high command expects BC voters to rally to the party in 2024.

But then the three leaders resort to group politics and fight over tickets.

YSR congressional executives worry whether these group policies will prove counterproductive and help the TDP for a fourth term.
