Watch the ASG general election debates tonight and tomorrow night

The Associated Student Government Judiciary invites students to attend a two-night debate series on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 1 and 2 at Giffels Auditorium in Old Main. Debates will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will feature candidates for student body leadership positions: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. The debates will also be broadcast live on the UATV Facebook and Twitter pages.

During the first night of debates, student leaders running for these positions will answer questions compiled by the ASG’s Judiciary Branch. The second night will feature a town hall-style debate where the candidates will answer questions from the audience.

Each debate will feature all candidates for the positions of student body president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary. the campaign ticket for these respective executive offices is as follows:

  • Lauren Loften, Tyler Merreign, Grady Schmidt and Kara Grace Mirando make up the “Raise the bar” ticket.

Voting starts Monday

Voting for the 2022 ASG General Election will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 7. Voting closes at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 9. Students can vote at vote.uark.edu or by emailing [email protected] to request a paper ballot.
